Why Seek Counselling

We look to counselling for all sorts of reasons. Perhaps you are feeling anxious, sad, isolated, overwhelmed, stuck, depressed, lack confidence, are experiencing issues with self-esteem or you could be wondering why you think and behave the way you do and want to make changes or find a way towards greater self-acceptance.
Having the support of family or friends can be invaluable, but sometimes this can limit what we say for fear of upsetting, being judged, misunderstood or worrying about over-burdening others. As your counsellor, I will be offering you confidentiality, impartiality, consistency, warmth, tailored and non-judgemental care, so that you can express yourself more freely and fully explore your thoughts and feelings.
We will work collaboratively to explore, who you are and what is important to you right now, your present and past experiences in relationships and how these might shape your thoughts, feelings, behaviour and unconscious patterns. I can support you to gain new perspectives, a way to move forward, greater self-awareness, confidence in communication with yourself and others, self-acceptance and greater autonomy.
I can help with the following areas:
